Dr. Jennifer Janssen, DVM, MS

Dr Jennifer Janssen is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, and earned her B.S. and D.V.M. from Louisiana Sate University. She has over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, where treating non-accidental trauma cases led her to pursue a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Forensic Science from the University of Florida. She developed the first Veterinary Forensic Department in Houston, which provided forensic services to the Greater Houston area. At the request of law enforcement, Dr Janssen performs forensic autopsies, forensic exams, osteology exams, and provides expert witness testimony in animal cruelty cases. She is a Board Member of the International Veterinary Forensic Science Association, and member of the Texas Division of International Association of Identification, International Association of Property and Evidence, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. Dr Janssen is married and enjoys exploring Houston and beyond with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
