Dr. Jeff R. Chalkley is a native Houstonian and graduate of Westbury
High School. He earned his B.S. and D.V.M from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Chalkley spent a year at Kansas State University doing an
internship in small animal medicine and surgery before joining our staff
in July 2005.
He is President of the Board of Directors for
Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, on the Companion Animal
Committee for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical
Association, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the
American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Chalkley was also the recipient of the
2009 TVMA Recent Graduate Practitioner of the Year Award.
Dr. Chalkley is the most dedicated vet I have ever taken my pets to see. He is incredibly thorough and caring. He takes time with his patients and talks to the owners at length about their pets. You can see how much he truly loves animals and his job.

We brought a puppy in that we had found and it turned out he had parvo. Dr. Chalkley and his staff did a great job with keeping us informed and gave our puppy the best care possible. His bedside manner is incredible. After 6 days with them our little guy
came home and should make a great recovery. When having a puppy that is so sick it was so important to us to have someone as compasionate as Dr. Chalkley. He went above and beyond, always there if I needed to ask a question and believe me I had many questions.

Dr. Chalkley is easily the best vet we have ever used in our 10 years as dog owners, from both our dogs' standpoints and ours as owners. He is always friendly, courteous, and truly listens to your concerns and questions. Dr. Chalkley explains why he is
performing a particular test or procedure and what he expects to learn from it. He has also done a great job of thinking outside the box when necessary to uncover the source of issues that were not immediately clear. He has a natural rapport with animals and
our dogs LOVE coming to Westbury Animal Hospital to see him. The hospital itself is a gorgeous building, clean as a whistle, and the staff has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I recommend Dr. Chalkley and Westbury Animal Hospital to all of my pet-owning
