Animal Caretaker

Animal Caretakers are responsible for the day-to-day care of patients and boarders. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals. Animal Caretakers must be able to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects, administer medications, and monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. Animal Caretakers must possess the willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarded and hospitalized pets. Kennel experience is not always a prerequisite for this position.

Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) are responsible for greeting clients; scheduling appointments; entering client, patient, and financial data into the practice-management software; generating invoices and explaining them to clients; processing payments; and managing the retrieval and storage of medical records. This position interacts primarily with the patients and their owners.

Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for various aspects of the patient care process. They provide assistance to the Client Service Representatives, assist doctors with physical examinations, and help veterinary technicians position patients for and process radiographs, prepare patients for surgery, provide nursing and comfort care, and perform treatments or basic laboratory diagnostic tests. Veterinary assistants must build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members.

Veterinary Technician

Veterinary technicians must have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses. They must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures. Technicians must also deliver compassionate nursing care.
