August Top Dawg

Congratulations to Anthony!

Anthony has been chosen this month by his peers! Way to go!

Anthony has been working at Westbury Animal Hospital for almost 6 months as a Veterinary Assistant. He was rewarded for being helpful and kind to clients.

His empathy and compassion for pets and their owners has been proven true this month as Anthony has taken it upon himself to go outside and pick a flower to place on several patients caskets before being taken home. This is a great example of what makes a top dawg. Someone who acts above their daily duties to make Westbury great without any care for themselves.

Thank you Anthony for going above and beyond!

Congratulations to Sade!

Sade has been chosen this month by her peers with 5 nominations! Way to go!

Sade has been working at Westbury Animal Hospital for almost a year as a Client Service Representative. We appreciate her hard work ethic, her team spirit, and good attitude when working with team members as well as with clients.

We have been short staffed recently and Sade has received several shout outs for all her support. Sade along with the rest of the CSR team have a very vital role at Westbury as they are essentially the “face” of the business and we cannot express how much we appreciate when they go above and beyond.

Congratulations to Helen!

Helen has been working as an over night technician since June of 2015. Helen was chosen this month because she had 5 different persons nominate her and a total of 9 mentions. She also had several nominations that listed wonderful testimonials to her character and specific examples on how she proved herself as a Top Dawg this month that go beyond her daily duties.

Helen is very deserving this month. Her peers feel she always goes above and beyond and puts her coworkers in a good mood. The ACT team commends Helen for helping with the laundry duties overnight.

Helen has been receiving phone calls from clients to specifically thank her for her hard work and caring attitude. Specifically, Helen was mentioned for assisting a client late at night. Helen talked with her on the phone the night before she was to put her pet to sleep and talked her through the process and provided comfort when needed.

Thank you Helen for your caring attitude and compassion for our clients. You make Westbury Animal Hospital a wonderful place to work as well as a caring place to bring your pets. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations to Sara!

Sara is October's Top Dawg Winner!

Sara has been working for Westbury for a year as a technician and veterinary assistant. She was nominated by her peers for going above and beyond in her work duties. Sara is a hard worker, and a pleasure to be around.

Sara takes initiative and has an extensive knowledge of veterinary medicine especially in behavior.  This experience has allowed her to excel at proper communication and recommending care to patients either in the exam room or by offering to call clients at home. Sara is always in tune to the appointment schedule and often points out cases that may need to be seen or prepared differently for an upcoming appointment and will often call these clients herself to ensure an efficient interaction takes place or that more critical pets are seen in a timely manner.

Congratulations to Melissa

Congratulations to Melissa!

Melissa is one of a kind. She has been working hard as a veterinary technician at Westbury Animal Hospital since 2009. She especially flourishes as our in house laboratory technician as well as an assistant to Dr. Eckermann and to the pharmacy.

Melissa has been nominated several times over the past few years and is a well deserving recipient. Melissa has trained the majority of the veterinary technicians hired at Westbury over the years; teaching them proper cytology, use of lab equipment, being an intermediary to lab companies, as well as proper client communication in the reporting of results and handling of specimens. She is well trained in the art of diagnostics and quality control. Thank you for passing on your knowledge Melissa!

Many of you may not know the importance laboratory diagnostics plays in the health of an animal, but ensuring all testing is conducted properly and timely can mean a big difference in an animal getting a diagnosis and treatment. She is always going above and beyond to maintain proper management of the lab (and I may be as bold to add that it may be one of the most consistently organized and efficient locations in the hospital)

Melissa is a wonderful co-worker and a pleasure to have at the hospital. Keep up the good work Melissa!

Congratulations to Bianca!!
Bianca is May's Top Dawg Award Winner

Bianca is the well deserving winner of this months Top Dawg Award. She has been working at Westbury as a veterinary technician since July 2013. Bianca is now working as the lead technician.

You have nominated Bianca this month for her hard work, attention to detail, and her leadership. Bianca has been very willing to take on extra shifts and be on call if more help is needed. We ask a lot of these fearless leaders and they are expected to fill any voids left by her team, but this is often gone unrecognized. Thank you Bianca for going above and beyond for your team to ensure animals get the best care possible.

Bianca was also applauded by members of other teams on the UEarnedIT site for assisting them when they needed it.

Thank you Bianca for all your hard work and for going above and beyond to make Westbury a better place! Great job!
